Prepare for disaster recovery¶
Cyberattacks, natural disasters, power and network outages, and application failures can occur without warning, resulting in damage to systems and data. By having a plan for backup operations and disaster recovery, you can help your organization recover.
Back up and recover configurations¶
If your Integrated Development Environment (IDE) stops responding and loses data, JRebel creates a hidden .jrebel
directory under the USERS
or HOME
directory. The .jrebel
directory contains a jrebel.properties
file that has your license information, log level, and log file location. If you lose rebel.xml
files, you can regenerate them by using the IDE. For example, in Eclipse, right-click your project in the Project Explorer. Then, click JRebel → Advanced Properties → Regenerate XML configuration.
Back up and recover hosted data¶
The backup and recovery process for hosted data involves regularly backing up the database where the hosted data is stored.
If you are using the JRebel for Cloud license server, database snapshots are created automatically by Amazon Web Services. For more information, see AWS Backup.
