Getting started with JRebel Broker

JRebel Broker is a lightweight service that acts as a bridge between the IDE and remote JRebel agents running inside JVMs. It enables real-time code syncing and hot-reload across distributed environments, making it ideal for modern cloud-native setups.

Before you begin

Before setting up JRebel Broker, you will need the following:

• Java 21 or newer.

• The jr-broker-server.jar file installed on your machine. To download the package that contains the file, under Download Previous Releases, select JRebel Broker Server from the Product dropdown.

• The rebelbroker.lic license file provided by your JRebel Sales contact.
